MC Dean of Technical Studies Curt Pervier, states, “We are so appreciative of Mr. Priddy’s donation. The truck will be a great teaching tool to demonstrate a historical perspective of automobiles.” Pervier further explains that the college also plans to use the truck in parades and for displays to promote college programs and events.
The 1920 Model TT truck was based on Ford’s classic Model T automobile, but with a heavier frame and rear axle. It was very durable for the time, but won’t win any NASCAR races! With standard gearing, the truck can attain a speed of not more than 15 mph; with special gearing, a speed of not more than 22 mph is attained. The truck is definitely reflective of a time when life was simpler and things were taken at a slower pace — yet another history lesson for MC’s students!

"A memorial service for Dr. Jeff Crain, MC Professor of Organizational Management, will be held on Monday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m. on the MC campus in the Scharbauer Student Center Carrasco Room," writes Rebecca Bell, MC's Dean of Public Information. "Dr. Crain passed away on Monday, July 11.""During the service, Dr. Crain's friends and colleagues will have an opportunity to offer a few words of remembrance. Amme Cole, who also teaches in MC's Organizational Management program, is assisting the family with arrangements.""Dr. Crain was respected and loved by his students. We have received numerous comments on MC's Facebook page from students offering their condolences and talking about how much he will be missed. "We extend our sympathy to family, friends and colleagues of Dr. Jeff Crain, Organizational Management Professor in MC's Bachelor of Applied Technology program," writes Rebecca Bell, Dean of Public Information at Midland College. "Dr. Crain collapsed [Monday] morning while working in his yard and passed away en route to the hospital. Preliminary reports indicate he suffered a heart attack.""As we get further details, we will update the MC family on this devastating loss of one of our own.""The MC flag will be flown at half-staff. A letter written to the editor of the Midland Reporter-Telegram, appearing in the newspapers July 6 issue, offered a hat tip to Kids' College at MC, and those responsible for its operation ..."Kids College at Midland College is an amazing enterprise," Jane Wolf writes, "from chess to crafts to creative writing to sports to science and math, to arts, music and even cooking. Boys and girls who have completed first through sixth grades can enroll in any of 50 courses. And more than 1,000 kids have taken advantage of that experience this summer.
